To Question Why

Just a causal discussion it always starts

How how it escalates so fast

Washed away thoughts and crippled opinions

Coming at you and I like glass

Damaged society breaking up formulated relationships

That have been at existence for years

Let's try to keep our head above water we tell ourselves

We are gonna be ok -

If we stay united by not being the same

& Distinguishing the hate flame

Eventually we exhaust one another

Limiting the things we are allowed to talk about

Silence is stabbing a knife in the air

Waiting for our voices to scream and shout

It comes to the point you got to convince me

Knock on my door and say you still uphold that respect

Despite our most obvious differences

I know it's hard

But running from our issues is just really

Circling the drain

With emotions just pouring uncontrollably

Ideologies aren't theories they become real

Then there's pain

It's hard to meet in the middle

When we both speak from the heart

It's cloudy up in the sky

Especially where there's so much unknown

With no real answer

To the question why
