I'll taste the summer's warmth

The sun will bounce on the back of my neck and I'll enjoy

The chance of getting a sunburn

Just by laying on the beach forgetting to reapply sun screen

Even though I should

I'll be thrilled to travel even though plane rides are exhausting

Landing with puffy eyes and little to no sleep

But seeing a different part of the world

Will make my year and add to a life time of accomplishments

I'll go to work and be happy to see my coworkers

Even the ones who used to annoy me

We will chat about the weather

And how bad the coffee tastes

As I sit and think to my self:

Children will complain about having to go to school again

Being happy will only last about a week

They'll be reluctant to do their homework

But be happy for a Friday night out to eat

Life as a whole will go on

In another shape or form

In another way the world will turn its' clock

Sun will rise and sun will set

Gratitude of the world will slowly be forgotten

But I'll hold my new friend close to my heart

Maybe the minds will change of our ungrateful selves

& a new life will start, at least for me when we open our doors again

One foot over another

Waking up sometimes can feel

As if you are learning how to walk

This time it is a little more real

Hold your breath in and then let it go

Because being in a dreamland state of mind

Can in make you quite low

Then reality will be hard to find

Put the bottle down my friend,

And put your keys away

Tomorrow is another day and a broken

Heart may mend

You'll go back to your routine based brain

With one foot over another now with pride

The concept won't seem so insane

I wish I could tell you this is easy but that'd be a lie

Hold my hand my friend

Please don't hold your breath anymore

Reality is harsh but dreamland isn't life that can be lived

Your heart needs more

My god this dirty room

Dusty shelves are hard to see

Without my glasses so I can't

Really properly clean -

I'll breathe in your silence,

As you take a look around

Looking at my place

As if it were lost and found

I see you holding your sneeze

Not trying to interrupt a moment

While I dream about somewhere we could be

That's just a little more free

I'll take to a cleaning and do it in a

Proper way

Would you then stay? Maybe my thoughts would be clear

So just in case saying goodbye

Won't be something to fear
