Sometimes life feels isolating

And I can feel frozen in time

So decide to build an igloo

In my arctic mind

It can feel endless and as quiet

Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock

But sometimes it is nice peek out

& see the northern lights

Suddenly forgetting about all the self-doubt

Even if winters can seem extra

Long when seasons are supposed to change

But I stay inside my thoughts

Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock

Where's the clock?

There is still nature to gawk at

When things seem like they will not end

It's a sign from somewhere or someone

Just trying to pass along and send

Don't freeze to death I say to myself

Get smart don't get stuck on that

Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock,

Sit over there by the rock

See? There's a fire ready and made.

And above there's still much more

To experience in the sky

Those northern lights

Can always stay inside

Even when things get tough

& Hope is hard to find

I knocked and waited

I stood there, chilled, and my feet seemed to have melted in with the earth and its' soil, trapped, unable to take another step forward.

I wanted to turn around and leave

Crank my keys into the car

Turn my stereo on blast

& Drive...

Heart beats from a long time comin'

Head full of thoughts come drummin'

Banging a beat inside my head

Of everything I have left unsaid

Shit it's over I will have to go

Turn away to the life I know

But I hear a door knob turn

With face appearing out of the ashes There but with a bit of a burn

Hello

Without that dark the light imprint

Of yourself will cease to exist

So they'll coexist in a world

That is not black and white

And always remember, with that light

There'll forever be a shadow

But don't pay no mind,

Your happiness will never die.

Keep on hiking through that treacherous forest

Enchanted with powers of love and loss

They'll eventually have to counteract one another

And part of you will be intact

Sown into your bloodstream

Sort of like an invisible tattoo
